Powder coating and more

Powder coating is a popular surface treatment variation since the layers can be used for both corrosion protection purposes but also provide an excellent visual appearance and yet are inexpensive. The powder consists of the finest solid particles based on polyester and epoxy resins. Solvents and heavy metals are not included. Thanks to its many merits and the inexhaustible variety of colours, powder coating can be found in a wide range of industry sectors and has been growing in popularity for many years. Phosphating, CDP coating and galvanizing are possible primers. You can find a wide range of these services in our group of companies. Contact us!

The advantages of powder coating:

  • Highly decorative
  • Absolutely UV-resistant
  • High corrosion protection with CDP primer
  • Available in all RAL colours available on the market
  • High scratch and chip resistance
  • Environmentally friendly
  • Resistant to many chemicals
  • Gloss levels: high gloss, semi-gloss, matt, structured (depending on RAL colour)
  • Even small batches can be coated affordably

The Process:

The powder is applied electrostatically to the workpiece. For this purpose, the primed part is fixed in a cabin or on a belt conveyor and supplied to the coating zone. The powder is applied to the workpiece via nozzles and then integrated in the downstream furnace. The oven temperature is 150-220 °C and depends on the type of workpiece and powder. The surface is now extremely resistant to scratches, stone chips and abrasion. This surface is considered an efficient, environmentally friendly and affordable coating process due to the possible recovery of excess powder using a collection container and different filter types.

We are happy to undertake additional work such as covering drill holes or threads before coating as well as special work after coating.

Possible materials:

Steel, iron materials, cast iron, pre-galvanized substrates, aluminium, die-cast zinc

Do you use other materials? We are happy to advise you regarding the feasibility and appropriate primers in a personal conversation.

Layer thickness:

60-90 µm

Both thin as well as thicker paint layers are possible, depending on the component and are evaluated separately for the precise case.

We are happy to advise you on the topics of powder coating, spray and wet painting.
